WISDOM
God says that we can have His wisdom. He offers us direction in daily living. He has set up principles and precepts designed for us to live by. He created us and knows exactly what we need to live. He offers it to us, but we must accept it and use it.
It is sad when someone ruins their life because they did not act wisely. Sometimes it takes one decision to change the direction of our life. Sometimes it can't be corrected, and there are always consequences that come with it.
Whenever you see the scriptural phrase:
"This is the will of God," you know for sure that's the will of God.
You also know that to disobey is to break His Word. Other clear indications of His leading are the precepts and principles in Scripture.
Precepts are clearly marked statements like 'abstain from sexual immorality.' That means abstain from sexual immorality. That is a precept. Then there are principles and these are general guidelines that require discernment and maturity if we are to grasp them. Like the sign that says to drive carefully. This may mean you should slow down a bit. But it always means that we must be alert and use judgment as how fast we should drive. We must be aware of the conditions of the road, what might hamper our seeing what is ahead. Maybe there is a hill with a blind spot ahead. It always means we need to use discernment. These principles require wisdom and discernment.
Don't let your head rule your heart.
Knowledge puffs one up. Love builds up.
Treat others as you would want to be treated.
Romans 14:13 says we are to judge ourselves and go easy on others. Show mercy. Live your own life not others lives for them. We are responsible for ourselves. We are not to judge wrongly or with harsh criticism those who are nonbelievers. (Matthew 7:1-12)
We are instructed to judge with a godly wisdom those who claim to be believers.(1 Corinthians 5:1-13)
Who can make the connections between what they know, how they should act, and how to put it into practice, and live it out daily? Living out what we know is right is not always easy. Human reasoning and logic have limitations. When we spend time in God's word we gain access to knowledge, which leads to wisdom. Wisdom makes things clearer to us, bringing an understanding, teaching us and giving us more knowledge. Wisdom continues to grow as we gain more knowledge and discernment from God's word.
We are not capable of controlling others and of changing any circumstance of life. There are people who believe they are capable of determining what is best for themselves. What that amounts to is telling God that He isn't needed or wanted. A time may come in everyone's life when they no longer feel in control of their life. At that time they will cry out for God to hear them and help them.
In the spiritual realm we have decisions to make that affect us and others around us. We have no control over how the enemy will attack us. He may attack through the people closest to us. He will attack us at our weakest point, we can be sure of that. We need discernment and wisdom and we need to know God's precepts and principles. None of us are capable of making wise decisions without God's wisdom. We don't have to.
God wants you to have an intimate relationship with Him and to know His ways. Then we may ask Him whatever, and He will answer. God sees all and knows all; He knows you and everyone you have to deal with. He provides the perfect answer for every issue you will ever face. He wants us to be in His word so that we know how we are to interact with others around us. He gives us His precepts and principles so that we are wise in making decisions. His way is always best because He knows the future and how things will work out. Our logic does not consider all the facts because we don't have any way of knowing them.
True wisdom can only come from God-- through praying, quiet times, reading the Word, and earnestly seeking His will. Best of all, wisdom will come from an attitude of service and obedience. No amount of Bible study or church activity can cover up our hearts before God. He can bless us only when we genuinely seek to follow Him.
We can make our own plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Prov 16:9
We must remember that it may be just one false, little step that gets us off course. One event in life that is mishandled can be like a cancer that eats away at us. We are often blind to our own weakness. We don't like to step back and look at ourselves. We don't like to admit our own failure, nor do we want anyone to tell us how we must change. It is easier, and sometimes more comfortable, for awhile anyway, to put the blame elsewhere. Some people stumble into temptation with their eyes wide open. They don't realize that "one thing could lead to another." We must not be naive about the world and the allurement it holds. There are traps that set up to ensnare us. The enemy is clever and knows what could trip each of us up. It is alright to make plans, but we need to remain open to the direction of the Lord. We should not try to make things happen a certain way. Motives and attitudes matter during the process. Hold the method loosely and allow God to intervene and make changes. His guidance is a wonderful promise. He allows and redirects to bring about what is best in the situation. Why would we want to go against that?
What decisions do you have to make?
God offers wise counsel. In everything, seek the Lord while He may be found.

WISDOM from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and
willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds.
It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

Wisdom For The Way
Charles Swindoll
Honest to the Core
Keep my commandments and live, and my teaching as the
apple of your eye. Proverbs 7:2
What is God looking for? He is looking for men and women whose hearts are completely His- completely . . .
God is not looking for magnificent specimens of humanity. He's looking for deeply spiritual, genuinely humble, honest-to-the-core servants who have integrity.
Today, we live in a world that says, in many ways, "If you just make a good impression, that's all that matters." But you will never be a man or woman of God if that's your philosophy. Never. You cannot fake it with the Almighty. He is not impressed with externals. He always focuses on the inward qualities ...those things that take time and discipline to cultivate.
